You may like "Sybil", by Flora Rheta Schreiber!
It's a book about a real story: mainly about the way a woman suffering from a multi-personality disorder(when this phenomenon wasn't a well-known thing yet) and her psychiatrist beat this condition.
The book is written as a novel, and IMHO very much worth reading.
I also very much liked reading: "I never promised you a rose-garden"!!
Reply:First of all, you have some great authors picked out!!!!
Sharon Creech has : Walk two moons Pleasing the Ghost Chasing Redbird Absolutely Normal Chaos Heartbeat Love that dog Fishing in the air Ruby Holler
Plus, if you go to http://hip.richland.lib.sc.us./ipac20/ip... you can look up some books by those authors. Hope this helped! HAPPY READING!!!!!!!!!! Also, try heartbreaker by Karen Robards, it's supposed to be good!! P.S. If you need more help e-mail me at bunny_lover96@yahoo.com
Reply:ALL the sarah dessen books are AMAZING. I cant put them down. My favorite was the truth about forever. She just writes in way that everyone can relate. Her books are really worth reading.
Reply:Try reading Darren shan's cirque du freak series
and My favorite Author Garth Nix's Abhorsen series
Reply:DaVinci Code is terrible. If you're into so-called "high-brow comedy" I suggest John Kennedy Toole's "Confederacy of Dunces".
Reply:Ben Elton is fantastic. Popcorn, Past Mortem, Dead Famous to name a few. He's got loads if you fancy a good giggle and a bit of suspense. The Peter Kay autobiography is a very good laugh indeed if you understand northern British humour.
Reply:Davinchi code
Reply:It sounds like you're on the cusp between reading juvenile novels and more adult novels. I would recommend " Magician: Apprentice" and the books that follow it in Raymond Feist's "Riftwar Saga." They are fast paced and enjoyable. Also Garth Nix is good. If you want to try a more adult read, Tim Powers' "Last Call" is about dark magic and soul stealing in Las Vegas and it blew me away.
Reply:"Sexual Bewitchery", this book is the sole reason why I was able to ever get a boyfriend and keep my head up high, have confidence and still be feminine and beautiful and proud. Don't have it in front of me now but it is written by three women(white witches, doctors, psycholgists).
Big fan of Steven King also.
Good call Mitch, Da Vinci Code is great.
Reply:Well, it all depends on the type of book you like to read. I am a fantasy type, and I love all of Tamora Pierce's books. Dragon Rider, Inkheart, Inkspell, Theif Lord, the Mistmantle chronicles, A single shard, Hachiko Waits, The Underland Chronicles, Twenty One Balloons, Uglies, Pretties, Specials, Angel Factory, (an More...) are also really good. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
