are rose and sharon in purgatory now too? i guess maybe you have to know the game to understand the end of the movie... but im really curious.

They died in the car accident near the beginning of the movie. I guess you can say that they are in a purgatory. I found out the answer to this question by seaching the question on yahoo answers. There are more detailed answers at the link below

Reply:Yes, it also means that there is probably going to be a conclusion. Did you notice that Sharon's evil part is not longer in the church? Where did she go?
Reply:I think it might be that good old Hollywood gimmick, leave the cliffhanger at the end or something can't bring peace anymore at the end of the movies. There might be a sequel to that movie though, like most video game movies tend to have. At the end something always happens to get your mind racing at what it could be, how it was not ended right or completely. Just for the sequel more than likely.





But awesome movie it was! Especially if you did play the games, it just makes much more sense for having the background knowledge of settings, characters and other odds and ends.
