Considering the multiple realms in the film 'Silent Hill', who in your opinion is dead at the end?

One could say Rose and her daughter, Sharon--Rose's husband, Christopher--or even none of the above. Please give your opinion and support your claim.

Considering the multiple realms in the film 'Silent Hill', who in your opinion is dead at the end?
I'd say "none of the above." The only people who were definitely dead by the end were the cultists and unfortunately Cybil. Here's why...





- Rose and her daughter didn't die in the car crash because no bodies were found (if I remember correctly, the cops on the scene said that it didn't look like anyone had been hurt). Neither of them were killed in Alessa's alternate dimension.





- The cultists were alive because they aged (although it was only most noticable with Dahlia and adult Alessa) and they ate (when Rose and Cybil first meet Anna, she says, "Mother needs more food."). All of them (except Dahlia) were killed during Alessa's slaughter at the church.





- Cybil was alive until the cultists burned her alive for helping Rose. As we know, no one can burn off the skin of a ghost.





- Christopher is still alive. He wasn't killed during the course of the movie and he's still looking for his wife and daughter.





So to recap:





Alive at the end: Rose, "Sharon" (who's actually Alessa reborn), Dahlia and Christopher.





Dead at the end: The cultists and Cybil.

Reply:Okay I have played all of the related games that go with this movie, so I can tell you that the movie encompassed the storyline from the first two games, they just swapped out the main characters.


The only people who died are those during the course of the movie. The three at the end, sharon rose and the husband are alive. Sharon and rose will never leave silent hill realm despite their escape. This is supported in the series. To enter the realm you have to be lured into the nightmare . Thus the husband went there by his own will and is not part of the nightmare realm, he went there and it was what the town actually was in reality. For the other two the realm is still visible and the horrors that were from the town will follow them for eternity, though the darkness part will be more vague since they are not actually in the town. Now creatures from the town will still stalk them in the future, and the husband will not be able to see them, even though rose and sharon may become visible to him with time.


This is the way the game works, so it is safe to assume that if the movie continues this is where the storyline will pick up. they will be lured back to the actual town to try and escape it yet again. Assuming the game storyline will continue if they do make a sequel, which I would want to see.
Reply:I like so didn't understand that movie one bit! But I think that that lady and her daughter were the ones that died, cuz when they returned home(Where I got so confused!) they were in a gloomier world and the dad was in the normal world. I guess if you visit that place you automatically die?! I hated that movie! It like made no sense! Well at least not to me
Reply:The only things that died in that movie were the 5 bucks I blew seeing it.
