Can someone please explain the end of Silent Hill for me?

Whats the go? Sharon/Alessa and Rose went home, and then when Chris woke up, they were gone. wtf? Is it something to do with the game?

Some other thoughts on what happened at the end.
Reply:During the movie, when the alarms sound, everything changes in Silent Hill, everything gets very creepy, like they are in another dimension or something.............so.....let's say they got caught in that dimension and they could never get out......probably that dimension is just "death", but not necessarily..... that's why they can be home without seeing the dad and vice versa......that's what i think!!! :)
