How exactly can i grow rose of sharon from seed?

Easy germination. Start seed indoors 4-6 weeks prior to last spring frost. Sow seeds on good seed starting mix, covering seeds with about 1/4" mix. Moisten mix and keep moist until germination begins. Place container in location at 68-70ºF. Seed should begin germinating in 10-20 days.

Another option is Winter Sowing. SUPER EASY!!! I use this method myself. Check out this website: www.wintersown.org for a great article.

If it's a seed you have saved or someone has given you it needs to be cool for at least three weeks. This can be done by putting in the lower crisper of your refrigerator.

Come spring, pot up in medium size pot and when plant is large enough put into ground.

Be sure and keep watered well, they take quit a bit of moisture.
Reply:Just grab a bunch of rose of sharon pods from a bush that has bloomed and throw them on some soil where you want the bushes to grow. They will sprout. They come up very easily. I have one and I have to pull up the little sprouts every year.
