Are Rose of Sharon's bushes roses they don't like like they are?

Rose of Sharon is actually a type of hibiscus. They are bushes, but can be pruned to grow as a tree (some get 8 to 10 feet high) and have blooms of various colors that resemble a hollyhock flower.

Rose of Sharon is actually in the hibiscus genus. Try a variety like 'Blushing Bride' I have that one and love it. The blooms are double, not in size, but fullness. Its like a ruffled flower that last longer than most hibiscus. They are very hardy shrubs, and here in Oregon they can reach 6-12 feet depending on variety.
Reply:They are not roses. They are a type of hibiscus.
