How to rid of rose of sharon roots?

well i put a fence for neighbor and got rid of most of the rose a sharon however there are some stumps remaining and neighbor would like them dug out completely is there anything beside a smal back hoe that could do the job?

How to rid of rose of sharon roots?
If it is a very mature and old rose of sharon then the roots will run deep so you can either rent something to help you dig them out or you can get some stump killer to put on the remaining stumps. This will kill the stump and roots.

Good Luck
Reply:With stumps you can hire an arborist to grind them out. Think of a giant cut-off saw that pivots back and forth across the ground. Problem is they can only go 6-12 inches max. Still that might be enough. Also they need access. They have to fit through the gate into the yard. And then there's price..$$$.

Got a bunch of buddies who like beer? Get a keg and invite them over to dig out the stump. Always goes faster with many hands, shovels and backs.

I'm looking out my window at two pyracantha stumps.....do you like beer?
Reply:Cut them at ground level, and probably every year for the next several. IF you can dig down some and cut them it will help
Reply:pull it out
Reply:you just have to put on some gloves and pull them out.

A character in literature... "Rose of Sharon"? Which novel?

Help! LOL.. it's driving me crazy. I was talking to a friend that was talking about planting some Rose of Sharon, a shrub, in her garden. Her mention of it triggered a memory of a character named that in a novel I read long ago. I keep prodding my Fitzgerald, Hemingway, Faulkner, Steinbeck brain cells... but no hits so far.

A character in literature... "Rose of Sharon"? Which novel?
Rose of Sharon Joad is the name of a major supporting character in the 1939 novel, The Grapes of Wrath. Selfish and immature (and pregnant) at the beginning of the novel, she matures in the face of the unrelenting hardships experienced by her family.
Reply:Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath
Reply:I don't think the Rose of Sharon mentioned in the Bible was a person and therefore not a character. I think it was in fact a rose. But it is important to remember this is where the name originally came from.

The only literary character I can think of is from The Grapes of Wrath.
Reply:The original Rose of Sharon is from the bible, the Song of Solomen.
Reply:The Grapes Of Wrath, by John Steinbeck

How tall will a rose of Sharon be?

I'm getting some Rose of Sharon's .Where is a good place to plant the,And are they hard to care for?

How tall will a rose of Sharon be?
I have a Rose of Sharon bush beside my patio %26amp; it has grown to 7 ft. It is planted in the ground with no special kind of dirt. I do fertilize with Miracle Grow once a month and it is still blooming this late in the year. I have it planted in full morning sun but shade in the afternoon. I have had it for 3 years now. I hope this helps.
Reply:They are very easy to care for. I have two planted in my yard and I never do anything to them. The sun and the rain take care of them. They can get pretty tall, like 10 feet or so but it takes years. I have had my planted for about 3 or 4 years and they are about 5 to 5 1/2 feet tall. One is in full sun and one is in partial sun and shade and they both do about the same.
Reply:The Rose of Sharon is a flower of uncertain identity mentioned in English language translations of the Bible. The word in question is the Hebrew חבצלת ḥăḇaṣṣeleṯ, which has been uncertainly linked to the words בצל beṣel, meaning 'bulb', and חמץ ḥāmaṣ, which is understood as meaning either 'pungent' or 'splendid' (The Analytical Hebrew and Chaldee Lexicon). The name first appears in 1611, when it was used in the King James Version of the Bible. According to an annotation at Song of Solomon 2.1 by the translation committee of the New Revised Standard Version, this is a mistranslation of the Hebrew word for "crocus". Different scholars have suggested that the biblical "Rose of Sharon" is one of the following plants:

A "kind of crocus" ("Sharon", Harper's Bible Dictionary) or a "crocus that grows in the coastal plain of Sharon" (New Oxford Annotated Bible);

Tulipa montana, "a bright red tulip-like flower . . . today prolific in the hills of Sharon" ("rose", Harper's Bible Dictionary);

Tulipa agenensis, the Sharon tulip, a species of tulip suggested by a few botanists; or

Lilium candidum, more commonly known as the Madonna lily, a species of lily suggested by some botanists, though likely in reference to the "lily of the valleys" mentioned in the second part of Song of Solomon 2.1.

Today, the name is also commonly applied to two different plants, neither of which is likely to have been the plant from the Bible:

Hypericum calycinum, an evergreen flowering shrub native to southeast Europe and southwest Asia, and the plant generally referred to in British and Australian English as "Rose of Sharon"; and

Hibiscus syriacus, a deciduous flowering shrub native to east Asia, the plant generally referred to in American English as "Rose of Sharon" and the national flower of South Korea. The flower's name in Korean is mugunghwa (Korean Hangul: 무궁화, Hanja: 無窮花).
Reply:We have one that was about 5 feet tall 10 years ago. Now it is easily 16-18 feet tall. I haven't touched the thing at all except to cut out a tree that was growing in the middle of it. These are simply gorgeous plants!
Reply:Your Hibiscus Syriacus will grow between 2 and 4 meters. They are easy to maintain. They are good for zones 5-9. Since plants bloom on new growth, shaping or pruning can be done at any time; prune in late winter or early spring in northern climates.

Christians please!! The Rose of Sharon?

Have any of experienced the Rose of Sharon? I would really like to hear about your experience, if you don't mind.

thanks, and blessings!!!

Christians please!! The Rose of Sharon?
The rose of sharon refers to Christ....

So yes....I have experienced Him firsthand
Reply:I have never heard of the Rose of Sharon. Who is Sharon?

*Edit*

It's a plant that no one is quite sure what it is. I don't know how anyone could experience a plant that has yet to be identified.
Reply:I am a Christian and am not sure what the "Rose of Sharon" is. I don't see it mentioned in the Bible either.

There are no shoots on these rose of sharon trees

Have a double rose of sharon tree, want to start another tree off this one, but I dont know how?
I have never in my life seen anything so easy to propagate.I have taken cuttings and just pushed them into my garden soil and they grow. I have planted two hundred seeds and all of them sprouted. I have made people mad because I keep giving them to them and they have to dig holes to plant them.
Reply:you can take a cutting off of fresh new growth and ust rooting powder(you can get that at your garden center) after you cut that off put it in water quickly, before dipping it in rooting powder have a pot with damp soil (must be soft) have a hole in soil, a pencil works well, dip end and put in pot keep damp and in a shady place.......
Reply:don't worry they reproduce out of control
Reply:Your Rose of Sharon tree will produce seeds and all of them will sprout. In 2 years you'll have so many trees you won't know what to do with them.
Reply:Rose of Sharon is very easy to propogate... I'm surprised you don't have a bunch of babies already. But if you don't, you should be able to cut a piece off, stick the end in some rooting hormone, stick it in dirt, keep it moist and in a couple weeks it should have roots. Or if you have a branch you can bend to the ground, you can do that, so that it touches the soil, place a rock on it to keep it in place and it will root to the soil it's touching in some time. I had someone yank a baby rose of sharon out of the ground, I took it home (eventually) and then it sat in a bucket with very little water (sometimes none), until I finally got it in the ground by the next week and it's growing very comfortably in my garden right now. I don't mean to be mean, but I am very busy... I don't baby too much so if it's gonna stay in my garden it has to be hardy. This baby is hardy!
Reply:In most cases, you can graft a branch in soaking soak with plenty of light. Be sure to pack the soil heavy since Rose of Sharon requires a moderate temperature and heavy root penetration.

Half of my Rose of Sharon shrub is dead. What could be wrong?

My Rose of Sharon has many branches that come up from the ground. Half of these branches never leafed out. I have trimmed these dead branches and now it looks like half is gone. What could be wrong. It gets full sun.

HIBISCUS syriacus rose of sharon. don't worry, sharon will be by later to care for it. just kidding...a bit of garden humor. tee hee. okay, it leafs out later in spring then most deciduous. could yours be a late bloomer? temperatures in winter that drop to -10 deg f or lower can result in some die back if not mulched well. but what do i know, i think the coldest it got in my back yard last winter was a chilly 56 deg. but i do have the right answer for you.

Staking a mature Rose of Sharon bush that is leaning badly?

I have several mature Rose of Sharon bushes that are at least 10-12 feet. Slowly they have been leaning east (the way the wind blows here). I was thinking about putting a fence post on the west side of them, pulling them as straight as I can and fastening them to the post.

Do you think this will correct the leaning? Or do you have other suggestions to fix this?

Staking a mature Rose of Sharon bush that is leaning badly?
i have the same problem with my rose of sharon.

the stems/trunk(s) are quite brittle yet they lean all the time.

your solution is the best one and the good news is that they can be pruned way down and have what is called: adventitious budding. that means that it will sprout new leaves/branches from mature wood... wherever there was a leaf axil at one time.

so... prune it back to the shape/size/height you want and then then gennnnnnnnnnntly stake it up (don't push too hard because the brittleness of the mature trunk will make it crack). you can adjust it little by little as the weeks go by.

it will correct the leaning thing but it will never really behave and grow straight up on it's own without support because it already had that chance and clearly didn't want to.

remember not to put any string/twine/wire all the way around the trunk... it'll "girdle" the stem, choke it eventually. leave one side of the loop wide open and check it every couple of months or so. these plants are fast growers, it'll grow around this support quickly.

but they are very forgiving and very worth saving.

hope this helps!
Reply:you're welcome!

cheers! Report It

Reply:Can you prune them and then add dirt pushing them straighter and add the fence post? I think that should take care of the probelme for some time. Good luck.

I need help with my Rose of Sharon Bush.?

I planted my rose of sharon bushes in plenty of sun, water good, but during the mid day the leaves wilt, then about late afternoon it perks back up. Does the wind cause this? Maybe too much sun?

I need help with my Rose of Sharon Bush.?
Midday wilt is normal for many plants. It's caused by the sun and heat. The plant dehydrates at a faster rate than it can replenish the water from the roots and it wilts until the evening when it all balances out again.

If you just recently planted it, it can take a bit of time for it to become established and for the roots to dig down. If you water the plant too often, the root system becomes shallow and the plant will always wilt in the heat. It's best to water plants with a good soak every few days than to lightly water them once a day. The roots go deeper looking for water and they can withstand droughts much better.
Reply:too much sun and maybe not enough water.
Reply:yes to much sun
Reply:How long has this been planted? If it is newly planted it probably just needs a little time to adjust to its new site. Rose of Sharon love the full sun, have very few insect and disease problems and are not real picky about the soil. Just as a precaution I would mulch it real good to hold the moisture in. If you can find a root stimulator that would also be good to help it get established well.
Reply:It should establish and get a deeper root system and then do well hopefully. If it is planted fairly close to the house with a concrete basement that can cause it as the concrete absorbs moisture

Where are Rose aned Sharon at the end of silent hill?

I have read that it is thought that they died in the car wreck in the begining but if that is so then would you really be afraid of dying again? Maybe the writers just assumed we wouldn't notice??? And if Sharon and Rose did die due to the darkness wouldn't they just go to heaven??? Ok I guess I need to go to bed now......

Where are Rose aned Sharon at the end of silent hill?
Im guessing that they werent aware that they were dead until the end of the movie and maybe if the evil monsters got them and killed them again while they were already dead their souls would go to hell. im not sure but maybe they had something unfinished so they didnt go to heaven just like many souls stay on earth for having some unfinished business so maybe after they returned to their home they went to heaven later, im just guessing but thats the only explanation i can find, also did any of you notice how the message she left her husband was all weird kind of like the messages that were on the movie white noise?
Reply:That movie didn't have a Heaven.. lol.. but good question.. where the heck are they!!!! Maybe they died... ghosts don't usually know they are dead, right, because of their unfinished business? I dunno...
Reply:They did die...but i'm still uncertain about some of the things. Like why would they be so scared and what not if they were already dead.
Reply:They are in their own home, they are ghosts that is why her husband is unable to see them.
Reply:i'm so glad you asked this ? because ever since i saw this stupid movie i've been confused as to what the hell it meant! were they in like some parallel universe or something the whole time? hmmm

Starting Rose Of Sharon From Seeds?

I have a beautiful Rose Of Sharon next to my house. I tied the small trunks together to make a topiary out of it when it was given to me by my neighboor years ago. It's grown at least 8 feet now and is beautiful when in bloom. I have started a seedling to see if I'd have any luck growing them and its about 4 inches high now with 2 leaves. I'd like to start more and am needing some advice on how to care for them and how fast will they grow per year, etc. I'd like to grow them and plant them in my back yard; also would like to form more topiaries out of them and grow them to sell in our town garden sale each spring in the near future, or plant them around my home town. Thanks......

Starting Rose Of Sharon From Seeds?
Dr Michael Dirr states in his Manual of Woody Landscape Plants that the seeds of Rose of Sharon, Hibiscus syriacus, require no special treatment. I have personally seen them coming up around the mother plant like weeds. They can also be started true-to-form, from cuttings, for the especially lovely cultivars like Blue Bird, Red Heart, and Minerva, An idea for your plant sale might be to plant three different colors in one pot, and then train and weave the strongest canes together like Ficus benjaminas into a single standard form. The head of your Rose-of-Sharon tree would eventually bear all three color blooms simultaneously.
Reply:I put pots of soil under my Rose of Sharon when it starts dropping its blooms and the next years I have baby Rose of Sharon trees already in the pots

Pruning Rose Of Sharon's?

Does anyone know how one gets a rose of sharon to be more of a tree with a main trunk than a shrub with several "arms"? Would I just keep pruning the lower branches as the tree grows?

Pruning Rose Of Sharon's?
That's the way its done. Prune in the winter to keep the plant less stressed. Do not prune too many big branches at once or it will throw it into shock.

Water, fertilize and mulch.

Have fun!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Yes. I have one and I have been pruning the lower branches each year. I hate to do it though because it is so beautiful.
Reply:I think so - we've had a row of Rose of Sharon's (white with red in center) in front of a solid wood fence, so I liked the shrub look.

I would think the best time to prune would be towards evening in the fall after they are finished blooming.
Reply:Everyone is correct-trim off the bottom limbs as it grows, up to the height you want. I have a couple that are tree form.

Blue Rose Of Sharon?

Has anyone had success with the blue version of the rose of sharon in zones cold as 4?

Blue Rose Of Sharon?
I live in a cold zone 5A. It leans towards a zone 4. Rose of Sharon does fine. In a zone four I would plant it in a place that gets a little bit of shelter from the wind. A wall, near taller shrubs or trees, etc... and it should be OK. Denise http://thegardenersrake.com
Reply:I think it's an up grade from the Purple Rose of Cairo, but I don't think it can match the Tulip of Toledo with the new Pentium chip.
Reply:I had one last a few years. Then I think we had a drought and lost it. I think the purple does much better and is more tolerant of our weather extremes. I also have a white one that does great.
Reply:This link says zone 5-9

Not being a rose of sharon fan I don't plant them but all of my neighbors do.

http://www.bluestoneperennials.com/b/bp/...

Check the hardiness zone

put your zip code along with hardiness zone.

Example:hardiness zone (your #)00000

You might be on the fringe of zone 4 and it could be close enough to plant one.

http://classygroundcovers.com/page----pl...
Reply:If you can try to make a micro-climate for it it should be ok. By this I mean someway growing it so it will be proteced adn think it is in a higher zone.

Sometimes this can be done by growing it close to the house especially if it also has an evergreen or fence to the side so the winds don't get to it.

good luck
Reply:Not had any experience with the Blue Satin, which looks gorgeous but don't know the hardiness rating of it. It is supposed to be as true blue as they get.

I have Blue Bird, the old variety, and it is pretty blue. Very fertile though, and as a surprise, this year in the old stand of Blue Bird, a couple of young plants bloomed for the first time--one a true, beautiful pink, and a pure white one! I don't even think that there is another Rose of Sharon in my neighborhood, guess it is just a gift of Nature. I garden in Zone 6b
Reply:Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus) is hardy in USDA hardiness zones 5-8. They are pretty easily damaged by colder weather, and definitely respond poorly to drought, especially in the fall. I'd look as some newer cultivars, that have been released from the National Arboretum. They are reported to be 'hardier' than older cultivars. I don't see a 'blue' one, but perhaps you might find one you like?

They are named for Greek myths (Aphrodite, Minerva, Diana, Helene... not sure if there are others).

I live in USDA hardiness zone 5, and have no problems with the cold here (drought yes). If you heavily mulch the plant, maybe protect it with a wind screen, you might have luck. I would definitely say, eventually the weather is likely to catch up with you.

Good luck-

I hope that this helps

IF I PLANT MY ROSE OF SHARON OUTSIDE NOW THE RABBITS WILL GET THEM

I Started my rose of sharon in side how long do i dare keep them inside before i put them outside. .?
as soon as weather has settled down as being warm. I have rose of Sharon's planted all over as edge plants and they are hardy, rabbits don't eat them.they may sit under them, as I have many rabbits that eat clover.
Reply:A ring of chicken wire, around the plants, securely fastened to some stakes would get you by.
Reply:You can start to harden them off on warmer days now by putting the pots out in a sheltered spot. Then plant out when the risk of frost has gone. I have several and the rabbits have never touched them
Reply:when they'll have better conditions outside than they have now inside.... and the wire cage is a great idea!!!....

Rose of sharon hedge in Wisconsin.?

I am a beginner gardener, so let me put that out there first. I want to plant Rose of Sharon Hedges along the street out here. But online it says it is hardy in zones 5-8, I live in zone 4. Does anyone think it would still grow? Or should I look for a different hedge. Like I said beginner. Anyone with any information would be helpful, thanks.

Rose of sharon hedge in Wisconsin.?
Don't plant any shrub that isn't hardy in your climate. Even marginally hardy. Find something tough and reliable for where you live. It's bad enough to lose perennial plants that you hoped you could baby through, but with a hedge you are dealing with all kinds of misery. For one thing shrubs are more expensive, for another if some die and others squeak by you will have gaps that will then need to be filled with different plants, probably of a different size. There are many pretty shrubs that will laugh at our winters so why not find one of those?
Reply:It probably won't make it through your winters. Go to a nursery or L%26amp;G Center in your area and they will have plants for your zone to choose from.

Do you believe wisteria, rose of sharon and mulberry are basically weeds?

I have had to dig these up whenever I see signs of them in my lawn, and usually near the border. Once I had to chop down a mulberry tree which I allowed to grow near my border with my neighbor. What a chore!

Each of these are beautiful, and I found out you can eat mulberies and even rose of sharon flowers.

I have only one rose of sharon, and it makes little seedlings every year that I could reroot and take to New York City and sell them on the corner for a few bucks.

People up there buy anything...all I need to do is set up shop near them guys with sqeegees who wipe your windshields.

They think wisteria is precious, and if you see one near somebody's brick attached home, people go "OOH and AAH"!

While being raised there, we had a rose of sharon in front of the house...attracted bees all summer long, but was beautiful.

I found out it's really a type of hibiscus.

What do you think?

Do you believe wisteria, rose of sharon and mulberry are basically weeds?
You don't have to go to New York to buy weeds. They are for sale everywhere I look. Almost every weed in my yard is for sale locally. I haven't seen golden rod yet but it will probably be for sale soon. Some of the plants others call weeds that grow in my yard look very nice %26amp; I would not try to get rid of them but might even try to start in other places.

Wisteria Sales for $100 here. I like it %26amp; would like to have it but I'm not paying $100 for it. If you like you can send me a start of it while your weeding.

My new neighbor from NJ just bought a vine of Honey Suckle for $35 %26amp; it is a weed that grows all over his %26amp; my property. I told him this right before spring kicked in but not knowing what it looked like he went %26amp; bought it. When I showed him where it was already growing he used a weed eater on it.

People never stop amazing me.

Most people think a female Asparagus is a weed but I would like it so it can reseed itself %26amp; I don’t have to buy crowns that are normally rotted when I get them.
Reply:I guess if you don't want a plant, it's a weed.. to me, all of the aforementioned plants are good, ornamental plants. Mulberries are nice trees, but the birds eat the fruit and inevitably bomb my car.. but the tree itself has a nice form and is a source of food for wildlife.

in summation.. my answer is no.. they're not..

Dandelions and pigweed.. yes. rose of sharon, no.
Reply:Since a weed is just a wild plant that some consider a nuisance, then, for you, the answer is yes. I happen to like these but, on the other hand, I don't have any of them. Maybe, I would change my mind if wisteria was eating my house.
Reply:I think you don't like New Yorkers!
Reply:There's no such thing a 'weed' there are just unwanted plants if you want to keep them enjoy the taste of the fruit and flowers then keep. As for stuff growing on your neighbours boarder maybe he should cut it down - or maybe you could move it away.

Why does my Rose of Sharon have two(2) different colored flowers?

I have 3 or 4 very old Rose of Sharon Bushes(maybe 15 years old) I planted from sprouts. I have a "purple" flower Rose of Sharon bush and a "white" flower rose of Sharon bush and between the two is a bush that has "purple" and "white" flowers. The bush was never grafted. It has only one "trunk"; each limb on the bush has it's own individual color.......either all purple or all white but they are all on the same bush. I have heard of flowers changing colors but I have never heard of a bush having two different colored flowers on it without something being done to it and this bush has had nothing done to it to cause this.

Why does my Rose of Sharon have two(2) different colored flowers?
Rose of sharon (Hibiscus), beautiful flowers! The state flower of Hawaii. When they drop their seeds, they grow very easily, and 1 seed from each plant hit the same spot. It looks like 1 plant, but i guarentee it's actually 2 just roots are wrapped real tiight.
Reply:has it always been like this?its possible that it was pollinated by both trees.where did you get the sprouts?if bought from a nursery they may have beendone there.that is odd.enjoy the oddity.

Rose of Sharon isn't blooming?

My mother has a Rose of Sharon bush which always gets lots of buds, but they never develop into blooms. We live in Indiana (I'm not sure which zone that is), but she has many other Rose of Sharon bushes, and they all bloom. What could be wrong? Is there anything she can do to make it bloom?

Rose of Sharon isn't blooming?
She might consider using a rose fertilizer. Rose food can encourage blooming but not necessarily encourage green growth, which is good! I did that with a double blooming rose of sharon and the blooms practically exploded out of the thing.
Reply:Glad to be of help! Report It

Reply:I would recommend using plant/tree food this year. Weekly dosage. Then in the fall, give them a good trim. I replanted rose of sharon's in my yard and they came back very nicely. Good luck I hope it works for you, rose of sharon is a pretty tree.

Actually, the Council of Nicea dealt very little with the subject of the Bible.

Nicea was the first ecumenical (worldwide) council of bishops in the Church.

Since then, there have been 20 others.

None of them have ever "edited" the Bible -- nor has any Pope.

The Catholic Church approves of certain versions of the Bible -- but their differences involve only translation. There are no "edits" in that meanings of things have been changed or dropped.

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;After all, the most common version is called the King James Version! %26lt;%26lt;%26lt;

The KJV is not used in the Catholic Church.

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;The part talking about the Virgin Mary was written in Greek, and in the Greek language at the time, "virgin" only meant a young girl--it had nothing to do with sex. %26lt;%26lt;%26lt;

Read Luke 1 and Mary's response to the angel Gabriel. She is quite plain in identifying herself as a virgin.

Rose of sharon-GRAPES OF WRATH?

IM DOING A PAPER ON THE TRANSFORMATION OF HOW ROSE OF SHARON IS MATURE IN THE END AND HER TRANSFORMATION...IF ANYONE IS A GOOD WRITER.OR JUST KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THE BOOK,CAN YOU GIVE ME SOME IDEAS AND POSSIBLY SOME QUOTES THAT I CAN WORK WITH? THANK YOU SO MUCH

Rose of sharon-GRAPES OF WRATH?
It's been a long time since I've read the book, but I think Rose of Sharon didn't really care that much about anybody except her baby. And even with that, it seemed more like she loved the *idea* of her baby, the idea of being a perfect mother and having a perfect baby. Everyone else fell to second place in her heart. After everything she goes through by the end of the book, she finally has enough strength to do something incredibly intimate and personal to help a total stranger. And I think she even found some comfort in the fact that she could do that.

Hope this helps!

Rose of Sharon not flowering?

I've got 4 Rose of Sharon bushes that were planted in the fall of 2006. They all leafed out last year but did not flower. They are all leafing this year as well, but no signs of any flower buds. I have roses in the general vicinity and they are growing and blooming just fine. Any ideas on why my Rose of Sharons show no signs of flowering (Yes, I *am* aware that roses are not related to Rose of Sharon!)? I should probably add that I'm in Zone 6, KY/TN area. The plants get good afternoon sunlight

Rose of Sharon not flowering?
you won't see buds for a couple months yet.... RoS don't bloom till the hottest time of summer........
Reply:Mine aren't in bloom yet, either. They are only just now beginning to bud, and I'm in the Southeast, zone 7, so I'm a little warmer than you. Be patient, they'll come around!
Reply:Rose of Sharon blooms near the end of the summer. They are not spring bloomers.
